Intelligent IP is a law firm created to help inventors evaluate, patent, and license their inventions.  It was founded by Donald L. Wenskay, a patent attorney with 30+ years experience who has helped hundreds of inventors obtain thousands of patents and generate millions of dollars in royalties.  His clients include major corporations such as Disney, IBM and Pioneer, as well as start-up companies and individual inventors.

Our Founder

Intelligent IP Founder, Donald L. Wenskay, is a patent attorney with over 30 years' experience helping inventors patent and profit from their inventions.  He is a licensed attorney in California and Michigan and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark office.  Mr. Wenskay has spoken and published on variety of subjects including IP protection for Artificial Intelligence, IP Risk Management and Standard Essential Patents. 

Before founding Intelligent IP he spent over 10 years learning patent law at leading Intellectual Property law firms, such as Fish & Richardson and Harness IP.  He has written and prosecuted over 1,000 patents for hundreds of inventors.  As a corporate executive and in-house patent attorney for major multinational corporations, including Disney, Pioneer, and Infineon, he managed patent portfolios worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and negotiated patent licenses in many countries generating tens of millions in revenue.

In addition to his Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University, Mr. Wenskay has a degree in Physics from the University of Michigan.  He has conducted high-energy particle physics research at Argonne National Laboratory.  He has also worked as an engineer at Texas Instruments.  Mr. Wenskay has expertise in many areas of technology.  His patent practice has focused on computer software and hardware, digital media and Artificial Intelligence.  In the area of AI, over the past 30 years he has written dozens of patent applications for AI and filed the first copyright application for a set of artificial neural network weights, as reported in the Wall Street Journal.
